Live Updates of Spadex Mission: Undocking

ISRO has not announced plans to undock the satellites and perform multiple docking and undocking operations under various maneuvering and drifting trajectories. This experimental mission aims to enhance the system’s reliability for future operational missions.

Live Updates of Spadex Mission: Docking

Docking was first plan on 7th January 2025 but postponed to January 9 due to ground simulation not completed yet.

On January 9 2025 it again postponed due to slow drift trajectory of chaser satellite SDX01.

On 16 January 2025, ISRO successfully achieved the docking of the SDX01 and SDX02 satellites.

Spadex Mission Rendezvous Phase

Both satellites drift and maneuver while actively searching for the ideal conditions to successfully perform the docking operation.

Launching of Spadex Mission

Spadex mission was launched on 30 December 2024 by PSLV C-60 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Shri Harikota, at altitude of 475 km in circular orbit. The Spadex mission consists of two satellites SDX01 and SDX02 each around 220 kg , designed to perform docking and undocking experiments in space. Both Satellites put at distance of 20 km.
