The history of the ISRO logo
The logo for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was crafted by Shri Bhargava V. S., an artist and calligrapher from Ahmedabad. It was officially incorporated on August 15, 1969. During 2002, on ISRO’s thirty-third-anniversary celebrations, the logo saw a few tweaks. Although the fundamental elements stayed unchanged, the font for “ISRO” got a modern update, making it more readable and stylish.
NASA’s Meatball
The NASA logo fondly nicknamed the “meatball” because of its circular design and patriotic red, white, and blue colors, made its debut in 1958. The logo showcases a blue sphere symbolizing a planet, adorned with stars, and a red chevron that signifies aeronautics. The “Meatball” design persisted from 1958 to 1975 and then again from 1992 to the present day.
NASA’s Worm
NASA embraced the “worm” logo from 1975 until 1992, after which it reintroduced the classic “meatball.” On June 21, 2023, the NASA Worm Logo sign at the NASA Headquarters building in Washington was revealed.
