ISRO mission in 2024 is to carry forward of success achieved in the accomplishment of Chandrayaan 3 and Aditya L1. Now ISRO ( Indian Space Research Organisation ) gearing up for the next big projects in 2024 which can impact the world space sector. ISRO has a legendary history of success from 1969. Some missions in 2024 are experimental in nature and some missions are explorations of nature. It includes the NISAR mission, Gaganyaan 1 mission, SPADEX mission, XPoSAT mission, and some other small missions.
ISRO Mission in 2024
NISAR Mission
NISAR (NASA- ISARO Synthetic Aperture Radar ) satellite is a joint mission of NASA and ISRO. NISAR is a Low Earth Observatory satellite which is the most advanced and most costly satellite with a budget of 1.5 billion USD built ever. This satellite will be launched in January 2024 by ISRO’s GSLV MK II rocket from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Shri Harikota, India. This satellite will be put into an orbit of 747 km high with an inclination of 98.4 degrees in a Sun-Synchronous orbit. This mission will be the first mission in all missions of ISRO Mission in 2024.

Gaganyaan-1
Gaganyaan mission is the ISRO’s most prestigious space exploration mission to send Indian citizens into space from Indian soil by Indian rocket for 3 days at an altitude of 400 km and bring them back safely to the earth. The Gaganyaan mission is expected to launch in 2025 by carrying 3 crew members.
Gaganyaan-1 is the first experimental orbital capsule test flight of the Gaganyaan mission. In this test flight, ISRO scientists will send a spacecraft at an altitude of 15km where scientists will stimulate the safe return of the crew capsule to Earth with the help of parachutes. This mission is expected 2nd big mission of all the missions of ISRO Mission in 2024.

SPADEX mission
SPADEX ( Space Docking Experiment ) is an experimental mission. ISRO is developing this indigenous technology for future missions especially to build the “Bhartiya Space Station” ( Indian Space Station). Docking is a process of joining two satellites or spacecraft to make them a single bigger unit or vice-versa, every space station like ISS ( International Space Station ) was built by docking. The budget of the SPADEX mission is about 124.47 crore (16 million USD), you can read the breakup of this budget and a detailed separate article on the SPADEX mission. This mission is scheduled to launch in 3rd quarter of 2024. This mission is projected to be the fourth significant endeavor among all the missions planned for the ISRO Mission in 2024.

INSAT 3DS
The INSAT 3DS is a key member of ISRO’s Indian National Satellite System (INSAT) series. Its main purpose is to keep a close eye on weather patterns, enhance our understanding of weather systems, assist in disaster management, and provide crucial meteorological forecasts. This mission is expected to launch in 2024.
